Frequently Asked Questions

These are the most common questions I’m asked, if there is anything else you would like to ask, please message me through the contact page, at hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk or on one of my social pages.

  • How do I make a purchase?

Thank you so much for your interest in my work.

All available paintings can be purchased directly through the website by using the ‘add to cart’ button for the individual paintings. When you have added everything you would like to purchase, proceed through the checkout and secure ecommerce payment system.

You can pay with debit/credit card, Apple Pay or PayPal.

  • Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I ship paintings all over the world.

If you cannot see your country of residence on the shipping options at checkout, please get in touch at hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk so that I can obtain a quote and add it to the shipping options, thank you.

For international sales, large canvases are removed from the wooden frame, and are rolled and shipped in a sturdy postal tube. The canvas can then be re-stretched onto a new frame in a local framing or art shop.

Please note: The buyer is responsible for all import costs. Overseas shipping costs do not include local taxes (e.g. VAT), customs charges and/or any other import fees. I do not have the facilities for estimating and charging for these costs in advance.

Please be aware that estimated shipping times can be disrupted by customs delays, which I cannot take responsibility for.

  • What happens after I have made my purchase?

Thank you so much for your purchase.

Your artwork will be prepared by myself, ready to be shipped to you. Paintings will be signed, varnished, and titled and dated on the reverse.

Please allow 2 weeks to ensure that paintings are fully dry before being carefully packed, ready to be shipped.

Once dispatched, shipment details of the carrier and tracking, where available, will be sent to you.

Shipping estimate from dispatch: (lead time to dispatch approx. 1-2 weeks)

    UK - 1-3 days

International - 1-2 weeks (3-4 weeks in total)

Please note: We cannot be held responsible for any delays due to customs.

  • Does my artwork come framed?

    No, frames are not included.

Stretched canvas come ready to hang, small canvases can be hung directly on the frame, and medium and large canvases will be prepared with hardware and picture cord.

A professional framer will be able to make a specific frame for your artwork.

  • Do you take on commissions?

I do, where availability allows. I think it’s helpful to explain that I work in a very instinctual and expressive way, my creative process is a journey with the paint, with colour, emotions and experiences. The destination is never predetermined - so if that intrigues and excites you, then please do get in touch to discuss how we can work together to make your artwork a reality.

Please drop me a message at: hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk

  • I own a gallery or shop and I'd like to stock your work.

Thank you so much for your interest. Please do get in touch to discuss enquiries for representation, licensing, or wholesale opportunities at hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk

  • Do you accept returns?

Please see the Shipping and Returns page for full details of when returns are accepted.

Bespoke works such as commissions, or prints that are custom made to order in the size required, are non-refundable, as per UK consumer law. However, if you have made an error in ordering, please let me know as soon as possible and I will see if there is something I can do to help.

Returns are expensive for you and for me, and there’s the to and fro costs for the environment too, so please do get in touch before ordering if there is anything else you would like to ask to help make sure it is the right artwork for you and your home: hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk

Every artwork and transaction is handled with care, and I try to provide as much clarity and transparency as possible. I really want you to be completely besotted with your new artwork!

  • Images are edited to be as close as possible to the original painting, but please bear in mind that colours can appear different from screen to screen. The paints that I use include high quality pigments that can appear different in different light. Please take time to have a look at the images of the painting on different screens to make sure it is right for you… for sure, the typical reaction is, wow, it is even better in person!

If you would like more photos and/or in different types of light, then please do ask.

Additionally, to help you decide, I can also add the painting to a photo of the wall that you are planning to hang the artwork on. Please let me know if you would like to do this, then I can let you know the turnaround time for me to be able to process this for you. Once agreed, I’ll need you to email me a photo of the wall, straight on, i.e. photo not taken at an angle to the wall, and with good lighting, and please let me know the width and height of the area.

  • How do I care for my artwork?

Varnished paintings should be dry dusted to keep your painting looking fresh and bright, use a lint-free cloth or a dry soft hair paintbrush and dust from one side to the other across the artwork, working your way from the top to the bottom allowing all the dust to fall off.

Never use any liquids to clean your artworks.

Paintings should not be hung or stored in full sun or damp places. Both can cause damage to the colour, and damp can cause mould and/or warping.

Works on paper and canvas board should be framed as soon as possible to avoid risk of damage, framing artworks on paper behind glass is best for protection and preservation.

  • Can I use/share one of your paintings on Facebook, or on my website or blog?

Yes, providing that it is for a non-commercial, non-profit use and my images are not edited in any way or overwritten, and all work is credited alongside the image e.g. ‘artwork by www.rachelparkersoden.co.uk’

For any commercial or for-profit ventures, prior agreement is necessary. If this is something you’re interested in, please contact me at hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk
