Shipping and Returns

Shipping Information

Thank you so much for your purchase. Paintings need time to be varnished and allowed to fully dry before being carefully packed, ready to be shipped. Please allow 2 weeks for this on top of the estimated shipping duration.

Once dispatched, details of the carrier, usually Royal Mail or Parcelforce within the UK, and tracking, where available, will be sent to you.

For international sales, large canvases will be removed from the wooden frame, and the canvas will be rolled and shipped in a sturdy postal tube. The canvas can then be re-stretched onto a new frame in a local framing or art shop.

If you prefer your large painting to be shipped fully stretched, a specialist art freight service can be arranged to expertly handle the painting - POA.

If you cannot see your country of residence on the shipping options, please get in touch at hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk , so that I can get a price and add it to the options.

Customs and Import Taxes

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes their country may require. These are NOT able to be calculated and added to the shipping costs on this website. We do not have the facilities for estimating and charging these in advance.

Customs charges are payable by the buyer on import. Any delay in paying for these, will add to the shipping time.

Estimated Shipping Times

Shipping estimate from dispatch:

(lead time to dispatch approx. 1-2 weeks)

UK - 1-3 days

International - 1-2 weeks (3-4 weeks in total)

Please note: We cannot be held responsible for any delays due to customs.

Returns

Every artwork and transaction is handled with care, and I try to provide as much clarity and transparency as possible. I really want you to be completely besotted with your new artwork! Please take time to have a look at the images of the painting on different screens to make sure it is right for you, as the colour calibration on different screens can vary… without a doubt, the typical reaction from collectors is, ‘wow, it is even better in person!’

If you would like more photos and/or in different types of light, then please do ask.

Additionally, to help you decide, I can also add the painting to a photo of the wall that you are planning to hang the artwork on. Please let me know if you would like to do this, then I can let you know the turnaround time for me to be able to process this for you. Once agreed, I’ll need you to email me a photo of the wall, straight on, i.e. photo not taken at an angle to the wall, and with good lighting, and please let me know the width and height of the area.

Returns and Cancellations

Returns are expensive for you and me, and there’s the to and fro costs for the environment too, so please do get in touch before ordering if there is anything else you would like to ask to help make sure it is the right artwork for you and your home: hello@rachelparkersoden.co.uk

If you have made a mistake in ordering, please contact me within the first 24 hours, and we can amend or cancel the order.

Non-returnable goods

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we can't accept returns for bespoke works such as commissions or prints that are custom made to order in the size required; as per UK consumer law.

Right to cancel

In line with UK distance selling regulations, you have a right to cancel the sales contract for available artworks sold through this website (or through our social media pages).

  • Your wish to revoke the contract must be given in writing within 14 days of you receiving your artwork. This can be either sent by email or post (or hand delivered), within the 14-day period.  Beyond this period, returns and cancellations will not be accepted.

  • You may use the cancellation form here, but you do not have to.

  • Returned goods should be shipped promptly and within 14 days of your notification in writing to cancel the contract.

  •  Artwork should be returned, at your cost, in the same condition, packed and secured in the original packaging.

  • Parcels MUST BE clearly marked RETURNS on the packaging, and on any international customs declaration forms, to avoid customs charges. We cannot be held liable for any return customs fees.

  • We cannot be held liable for packages lost in transit during return shipping. For your own peace of mind, you should insure for the full value, and keep your postage receipt with a tracking number until you have received your refund.

  • For large artworks on stretchers, please get in touch regarding advice on return shipping.

  • Once the painting is received back with us, we will inspect the artwork and all being well, we will then refund the cost of the artwork back to you, using the original payment source.

  • If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

It is our responsibility to supply you with goods that meet your consumer rights. If you have any concerns that we have not met our legal obligations, please contact us.
